Dandruff is the shedding of the dried-out dead skin cells that are pushed out of the scalp. It is an itchy, frustrating and seasonal condition. It is most common in summer and usually declines in winter months.
In a healthy scalp, the shedding of the dead skin cells is moderate and is a normal process of the scalp’s renewal cycle. But in individuals with dandruff, this balance is disturbed and the pushed out cells are mostly alive. |
